The State of Delaware was the first state to join the Union that is now the United States. There appear to be no Hubbells who came to the state and stayed during the pioneer period of 1650 to 1899. Why this beautiful little treasure was passed over by the roving Hubbell pioneers, whose curiosity and itchy feet were boundless, is a mystery.

Hubbell was born in Paris, France, educated in Virginia and the District of
Columbia, taught college in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and later lived in
Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
