Hubbell Historical Sites:

Hubbell House; James L. Hubbell & Julianna Gutierrez-Hubbell

Hubbell House Alliance - A Project of the Committee to Preserve the Hubbell Property.  The Hubbell House is one of a few remaining adobe haciendas in central New Mexico relatively unchanged from its original form and has been referred to as the most significant remaining historical site between Socorro and Santa Fe.

Hubbell House, Albuquerque / Cornerstones Project - This site is the ancestral home of James L. Hubbell and Julianna Gutierrez-Hubbell.  The Committee to Preserve the Hubbell Property is a grass-roots community group that was established in July 1997 for the purpose of protecting the Hubbell Property from imminent commercial development.

Bernalillo County Special Projects - Bernalillo County purchased the Gutierrez-Hubbell House as part of the Open Space program in 2000. The property consists of a 5700 square-foot, 150 year-old historic Territorial style adobe home and 10 acres of cultivated agriculture land.

HGTV's Salute to Preservation - In celebration of our nation's architectural and cultural diversity, Restore America showcases "grass roots," individual and neighborhood restorations.  The Gutierrez-Hubbell House was featured on this series.

Save America's Treasures news release - HGTV Joins National Trust in Inaugural "Salute to Preservation", the Gutierrez-Hubbell House being one of the 12 sites profiled.

Albuquerque Tribune Online article - More than a century ago, the Hubbell House was a well-known, hospitable stop just south of Albuquerque.

Hubbell Trading Post, Ganado, AZ

Hubbell Trading Post NHS Home Page - The trading post was purchased by John Lorenzo Hubbell in 1878, and the Hubbell family operated the post until it was sold to the National Park Service in 1967.

John Lorenzo Hubbell - Born on November 27, 1853 in Pajarito, New Mexico, a small community south of Albuquerque. Mostly self- educated, he became familiar with the life, ways and language of the Navajos while traveling the Southwest.

Friends of Hubbell Trading Post NHS - Friends of Hubbell is a recognized, non-profit organization, providing scholarships to Navajo and Hopi college students, promoting Native American arts and crafts, and aiding the National Park Service at the historic site.

Navajo Portraits - This exhibit highlights selected artworks from the Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site museum collections. They were featured in the Portraits of the People: E.A. Burbank at Hubbell Trading Post exhibit at the Navajo Nation Museum, Window Rock, Arizona from August 9-December 21, 2002. The artworks can be seen at Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site.

Hubbell House Restaurant, Mantorville, MN - Originally a hotel built by John B. Hubbell in 1856, it is the site where THFHS was founded in 1981.

Charles H. Hubbell - (1898-1971) Commercial aviation artist.  A selection of his paintings are displayed in the Carruthers Special Collection at the Sprague Library of Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA).

National Baseball Hall of Fame - Carl Hubbell - The Giants' mainstay of the 1930s, Carl Hubbell led the club to three pennants in a five-year span, during which he averaged 23 victories a season and was twice named MVP.
