Historic Hubbells

The Hubbell Family Historical Society announces the publication of A Military History of the Hubbell Family in North America.  The book was written by Commander Hilbert R. Hubble USN (Ret) and documents the service of all Hubbell/Hubble/Hubel/Hubbels in the United States and Canada for which records can be found.

Hubbell Pioneers is a Society publication that tells the history of the United States via the personal history of individual Hubbells. Read some of the chapter excerpts here.

When in Arizona, visit the Hubbell Trading Post, run by Don Lorenzo Hubbell in the late 1800's.  Hubbell Trading Post is designated as a National Historical Site by the National Park Service.

Dr. Donald S. Hubbell earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in the field of agriculture.  His book, The Legacy of Hubba the Dane, is a product of his own personal philosophy.  The reader of this book will enjoy its unique approach on life as it is presented by the author in both poetry and prose.

The Hubbell House on VanCleef Lake is a Gothic Revival cottage located in Seneca Falls, NY, that once served as the home of Laura Hoskins Hubbell, widow of Wolcott S. B. Hubbell.

THFHS member Robert Mouat has submitted an account his third great grandmother, Pamela Hubbell Lane, wrote in 1858.  Called “The Newtown (Connecticut) Memories,” it provides a vivid picture of life in the early 19th century, commenting on the progress of “modern” convenience enjoyed by denizens of the mid-1800s.
