About the Author: Donald Hubbell was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on
May 18, 1906. He was reared on a Navajo Indian trading post in Arizona and received his higher education in Oklahoma
and at Iowa State University where he earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in the field of agriculture.
He served as Professor of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas and later as Director of the Navajo Experiment Station at Mexican
Springs, New Mexico. He first entered The United States Foreign Service in 1941 as Agricultural Advisor to the
Venezuelan government and later served in this capacity in South America, Europe, and the Far East.
Dr. Hubbell has
received many honors during his professional career including the highest civilian decoration given by the Spanish government.
He is the author of numerous research papers and he is listed in American Men of Science and in
Who's Who in America.
His book, The Legacy of Hubba the Dane, is a product of his
own personal philosophy and unlike his other books is in no way based on his scientific knowledge of agriculture.
The reader of this book will enjoy its unique approach on life as it is presented by the author in both poetry and prose; which
forms of expression are utilized to emphasize the major concepts of life that the author wishes to portray.
